Yes, Honeybun, must add potatoes to the list.... ;D
Sparkle:  your dog sounds so sweet; keeping you company while your husband is away. Our dog's routine is a bowl of milky tea before bed (in winter she sleeps in the study on a bed my husband made for her). Then we take her out for a wee and cross our fingers for no incontinent nights!
We were away a few months ago and the dog  flatly refused to go out for a wee (she had been spooked by various strange night birds at the place we were renting). My husband picked her up (yes, all 40 kilos of her... just kidding she's only 39kilos) and strode out into the night. He forgot about the steps at the back door and fell, spraining his back and breaking his ankle. This was at 3am in the middle of nowhere, mind. Would you believe it, the dog actually had tears in her eyes, as if she knew she was responsible? Honestly, it's the truth.

Sparkle, you are up late! I'm going to drag myself down to the shops for more cough medicine now. My daughter says she is not coming on Sunday as she doesn't want the children to catch any more colds. Fair enough, I guess. Less people for me to cook for. If my son bails out it will just be a quiet weekend with the two of us. We can always reschedule.
Glad someone else forgets tried and true recipes too!
I meant to add... that routine of a cuppa, a wee and crossing our fingers for an incontinence free night also applies to husband and myself ;D

lyn you sound like us, we have the routine with the dogs too.  My DH spent years carrying old large dogs up and down stairs, he still wont have it we are getting too old for large dogs now.

Stupid things - I did it again, miscalculated the finances.  Seems I cannot add up any more, I have written in large letters on my notebook 'USE A CALCULATER' fgs, I used to be a book keeper. ::)

I hate doing the finances. I always end up feeling as if everything is my fault....well usually it is  ::)

My hubby is perfectly capable but chooses not to and leaves the whole lot up to me.

My daughter has no interest in her money so I manage hers for her too.

And I don't get paid  ;D

Seems to be many couples like your friend Sparkle, my Mum does it all (which is scary in itself these days) my Dad does not know how to pay a bill, my friends parents are the same in reverse.

DH and I split it really, I do some and he does some - he earns more so pays more.  He was very good about it, when I said about blaming hormones he rolled his eyes and said 'its more likely the lack of sleep that is doing it' (not sure he is following the meno thing, but he tries).  Anyway he is going to sort it out in the week, and I am going to use a calculator in future. :(
