Oh Dear!

Yesterday I went to serve the rice from the  saucepan to plate, only to discover I hadn't even  put the rice on to cook!  :(

I would give the bank a call Mac as its not credited back to your account immediately.

Worth a phone call I would think.

Popped into Tesco for a loaf, newspaper and cakes yesterday morning before work. Didn't use a basket as only wanted the 3 things so carried them to the self service checkouts. When I went to scan the loaf it didn't have a sticker so I had to wait for help from the assistant who was helping the man next to me. At first she was going to call someone then she asked me if I could remember how much the loaf was. I could, so she just entered the price for me and I paid. She asked me if I had seen the new "Scan as you Shop" area they have just installed where you pick up a scanner and scan your shopping as you go round then pay at special tills. We had a conversation about them and the man at the next till seemed really interested too.

I said Bye and walked out of the store and through the car park back to my car. I noticed a few "admiring" glances and thought I must be looking Ok. When I got back to my car and into the drivers seat, I saw my reflection in the dashboard.

Emblazoned on my left breast pocket was a large loaf barcode label for £1.00!

Surely the checkout assistant MUST have seen it - we chatted for quite a while. Or even the man at the next till - although he could hardly reach out and remove it could he?

When I told the  girls at work they said I should have scanned my breast pocket.... "Unexpected item in bagging area"  ;D

So much for the admiring glances - I DID feel a nitwit.

Mac.. Did exactly the same thing yesterday!! walked away from cash machine without the cash, and only realised when went to pay at till in supermarket. ran out to see if by chance it was there, but no..... i was so upset. it wasnt alot of cash but i might as well have stood in the street ripping it up. my memory used to be so good.!! tonight I was talking to my daughter, and then watched the tv for a few minutes, and then I looked over at her and  I  literally couldnt recall what we were just talking about!!  I said this to her, and she looked at me like i was an alien! I was quite worried. Hope it is the hormones and nothing else. I keep thinking of that character in coronation street that had Alzimers. It was quite disturbing. And I'm really not trying to be flippant.

Me neither HB. I was useless at school and not much better now. When I was a teenager, my friend and I went for after school jobs at a local supermarket. They tried me on the till and I couldn't work out the change (this was before tills that did it for you) And if someone said "Do you want the 50p" it would completely throw me! They took me off the tills and put me onto shelf stacking ;D Now shelves I could stack!

Definitely not meno related for me either.

I can do money  ;D ;D.

DD was applying for a temporary job and had to do an aptitude test before she was allowed to fill in the actual application form. There were maths questions. I am afraid she takes after me in the maths department and it took two of us with a calculator  :o

She is at uni but got there without maths....this is for a shop assistant job.....heavens what next.

She has 8 standard grades. 4 Highers and three advanced highers ....what more do they want.

Unbelievable isn't it Honeybun?
My daughter has an Honours degree in business law and the only job she could get was in the stockroom in a large fashion store retailers.
Mind you her aptitude test was to see if she could hang clothes on hangers which I'm surprised she passed because she can't seem to do it at home!

I went outside in the howling wind last night with a bag of rubbish to put in my large wheely bin.  I then got into the car, but couldn't find by house keys anywhere.  I got out the car, the door nearly blew off!  I was walking around the car and looking on the ground for the keys.  I then realised I'd thrown them in the bin with the rubbish, and had to more or less dive into the bin to get them. :-\

Oh I've done that too.  And leaning into the bin wondered how long I'd be locked inside if I fell, before DH realised that I was missing  ::)
