Reflux cough
« on: November 24, 2020, 09:19:24 PM »

Have seen a post on here talking about reflux cough.  I have recently been diagnosed with this having never suffered from acid reflux.  Could this be related to HRT?  I am taking 100 mg utrogestan at night and 2 pumps of oestrogel in the morning.

More likely to be due to a drop in oestrogen levels.  As they drop so muscles may become lax including the digestive tract.  I've had treatment for reflux cough for about a year, having managed the reflux and heart burn with 'Rennies' or 'milk of magnesia' tablets.

4 me it's annoying clearing throat action during the day, anytime after mid-morning - sometimes I need to take an extra Omperazolol in the day time as well as 1 at night.

Let us know?  reflux can be 'silent'.  Apparently.

I found it better when I switched to taking the utrogestan vaginally!

Does that make a difference to reflux?  Do you still use it at night?

Yes I do use it at night, but as I have just posted on a new topic I then switched to alternate nights as I was feeling tired and now I am getting headaches!! It seems to be so much trial and error....
