Hi
Any suggestions to.ease a sore red and oh so tender scalp.

I've spent a fortune on shampoos to ease the pain but it still hurts.

It ok 80,% immeditely after washing it, but if i leave it for a day it.becomes so painful.  Like.aomeones pulled my hair for hours.

I can feel small painful spots scattered around mostly on the top of head.

Any remedies anyone anywhere ?

I have this when my hair needs washing.  Like the hair is heavy with oils and pulling 

Try a gentle massage in t he evenings to stimulate blood flow to the scalp or whilst your hair is wet.  I use baby shampoo .  It could be the SLS in the product so look for a shampoo that doesn't have it.  If all else fails, a little hand soap rubbed gently, then rinse.  Tap and air dry, don't rub whilst drying and keep away from a hair drier.

Hi there,

I’d get it checked out, you may have inflammation of the hair follicles or dermatitis.
I had this years ago after a reaction to hair dye and had to use the horrible tar shampoo but think T-gel might help if the baby shampoo doesn’t give you any relief.

Hi ladies
Have brought some tgel and using twice a week and am washing hair every second day. Early days but seems calmer.

I need to.colour my hair asap as Grey's thick and fast approaching but won't whilst it's sore and not sure.if there are any scalp.friendly hair dyes out there?

Embrace Grey ?  I haven't coloured mine for 8+ years and it's OK.  After all, I don't lookout myself : apart from the old woman who peers from shop windows  who might be me  .

If you have found a solution to easing the soreness why aggravate?  As oestrogen levels drop the body maybe dry including the scalp.

I have had scalp psoriasis on and off for years and use Betacap scalp application, only available from gp.  Very effective and use sparingly.
