I am so sorry ladies but seem to always be on this forum.

I have been on Evorel Sequi patches 50 now for 5.5 weeks.  Second month and on the estrogen patches and it is making me feel crazy. No let up! Back ache, dizzy, generally feel awful on it.  My instinct was it wasn’t enough estrogen so GP has prescribed Elleste Solo 1mg oestrogen tablets to take alongside the patch - and then I thought, what happens when I go on the Conti patches - surely that’s not going to balance.  Now I am thinking maybe it’s too much and just want to drag it off!

I was lucky to make another appointment with a Meno specialist (more money) to talk things through tomorrow but in the meantime, should I rip it off?

If it's making you feel that bad, and as your speaking to your specialist tomorrow, it won't make much difference in my opinion.
Go with your gut feeling.

I would say after 5.5 weeks, that’s plenty of time to know how your body is going to react. I took off my Estradot patch after only 11 days due to crippling pmt and period pains. Instant relief. Now back on gel, but still have driving anxiety. A total minefield!

She has prescribed Evorel Conti as I was better (not perfect) on the Conti patches.  She said the next thing (if these don’t work) is to add Elleste Solo 1mg tablet form for estrogen.  With regards to the anxiety, she said I can sit it out until the HRT does it’s job (hopefully) or take a SSRI to assist and then wean off it.  I am not happy to take that at this stage.  I would rather treat the cause as much as possible as oppose to masking it!  I may be wrong and please let me know your views.

I put the patch on when I returned yesterday.  I woke this morning with mad anxiety - I have been wired since my nose dive the other day when I did my original post and don’t know how to come down - but guess have to let the patch do it’s job.  Just a minefield indeed

Hi sed, I agree with you, too many meds and you won't know what's doing what and probably going to have side effects.
How are you feeling today? I think hormonal anxiety is really hard to tackle with HRT. It doesn't seem to be a simple case of replacing oestrogen and same thing regarding AD's, they don't necessarily help with hormonal imbalances. Hopefully you will find the right regime. It takes time though.

From my own experience over the last 18 months, your body may go a little erratic as it accepts the hormones that you are now using.  I got worse in the first 6 - 8 weeks then slowly improved.

Hi sed, I think you are absolutely right not to accept AD's at this point, the hrt should help resolve your anxiety, if you google a list of symptoms of the peri/menopause, it is right there, and is treated by hrt.
Just give it a fair amount of time to work and remember that sometimes we work ourselves into feeling anxious,  especially when we are unsure about our health, so be open to turning your focus away from the anxious feelings and just engage in other things to keep your mind off it. Hope things improve for you!
