Is it a miracle or Evorel Sequi?
« on: August 16, 2020, 06:12:58 PM »

So, day 10 on this regime.  Day 1 to 5, well, I felt like a new person - my life was almost back.  Is this just my body playing tricks on me? my anxiety levels were switched down (not off), my morning legs and arms shaking and trembling disappeared.  I have slept like a baby.

On Day 6-10, my anxiety switched back up and the nausea started and hasn’t left yet.  I was woken this morning by a slight shaking in my legs but didn’t stay with me.  I am still sleeping  :)

I haven’t moved to the Conti patches yet and hear a lot of negative on it but will give it a go.  Anyone have anything positive to say about this regime?  Anything else I should expect apart from nausea?

Have they invented a HRT to control anxiety and not heightened the very worse symptom I am trying to get away from?  Never had anxiety before meno and convinced it’s hormonal.  Just some encouragement as I move through it?  Thoughts, ideas?

Hi, I am on day 8 of evorel patches and so far so good.  Anxiety still there very slightly raring it’s head with breathlessness and chest tightness - I have had some bearable days of nausea which Ginger tea has been helping (hopefully it will pass soon).  Now I have noticed some spots 2nd day now on my upper legs - they aren’t red or itchy.  Just wondered if this was a side effect?

Hi sed - I've quoted from your earlier post which was missed and added this one. Thanks also for your pm just received (I only know about these when I come onto the forum, unfortunately - the notifications don't work) - I'm answering on here rather than by pm?

Unfortunately these posts have both got missed probably because it's August! I have never experienced anxiety well not as poeple describe it anyway. Nausea does indicate that oestrogen may be too high. I can't remember where you are in menopause or how old you are? If you are still very much early peri then maybe the Evorel is adding to your oestrogen surges which do happen especially early on when hormonal fluctuations are more extreme?

When I started HRT 13 +  years ago this was the regime I used but I was very late peri and the oestrogen patches worked like a charm. All my flushes and sweats went and I felt like a new person - reinvigorated! I didn't get on with the conti patches - but lots of people do - so I changed to a different regime.

See how it goes and depending where you are in meno and your age maybe something like one of the combined COC pills might suit better (the ones that contain estradiol like Evorel does) as these regulate the cycle and minimise the natural hormonal fluctuations?

Hope you're feeling better today :)

Thanks Hurdity

How do you know how far peri you are?  My last period was March and before than November last year.  I am 50.

So the evorel First patch 50 is Estrogel? I am due to start the Conti patch on Thursday.

Today still having the side effects for the first 12 days of being on these patches although.  The spots are almost gone now which I am happy about.  I just generally feel unwell - very disheartening

Hello sed.

I am sorry that you feel unwell on your regime so far.

I am sure that Hurdity is correct when she says that nausea is likely caused by high oestrogen.  However some of us have experienced a ' morning sickness' type of nausea during meno which I assume results from an imbalance. I don't think my oestrogen was particularly high when this happened to me as I was just about post meno  and not on HRT at the time.

Wishing you well.

If it helps, I'm feeling a lot better on Evorel Sequi.  I had a bit of slight nausea at first on the estradiol patches, and to be honest I don't feel as great on them as the combined patches on day 14, but I generally feel better overall for being on this HRT.  I hope the nausea will lessen.  I've always been a sickness phobe and yet it's not been bad for me.  I hope it improves for you.

Just your first sentence has helped me.  I am on Day 14 today and started the Conti patches so fingers crossed..this morning was rough with nausea but the afternoon I have had less ginger tea and mints!

I seem to get on a bit of a high during the Conti stage, which I don't mind at all  ;D  Loads of stuff gets done, nesting, organising, sorting, tidying, lol.  Hopefully you will settle on it all and have less of a reaction to the oestrogen when it comes around again.

So Day 4 on the Conti patch and I am not sure if I am just being paranoid because I have read mixed reviews on this, muscles ache  in my neck, shoulders and back - is this yet another side effect?  This obviously has effected my mood.   I suspect my anxiety is linked to peri as it came at the same time as the other symptoms for peri.

My nausea has subsided a lot and have it briefly in the morning.
