Evorel Conti - New formulation or not?
« on: August 08, 2020, 11:51:26 AM »

Hello,
I’m on the 4th day of switching from Oestrogel/Utrogestan to Evorel Conti and I don’t want to jinx it but I’m feeling really good.
When I tried Evorel Sequi 18 months ago, I felt bad as soon as I put on the Conti part and the same with Utro but I’m feeling chilled and upbeat which was how I was before peri. I’m sleeping great and apart from a couple of spots and the odd pang of breast tenderness, all is well so far.
Can you develop a better tolerance over time to norethisterone or has anyone else noticed an improvement from old Evorel since Theramex took over the manufacture?
I may crash and burn next week but this is definitely a first for me.  :)

Hi Evie606

Great news that you are feeling better. I haven't looked into the composition of the newly remanufactured patches but I imagine the formulation would be the same otherwise they would need to go through a period of testing I would have thought?

My reaction to norethisterone was unpredictable. When I used Evorel sequi when i first started hRT - I hated it and it gave me migraines, and also when I tried a conti patch later. However I have had to take much higher doses of norethisterone orally a couple of times because my GP wanted to ensure my lining was thin as I am on a longer cycle - and I didn't really notice it, apart from a weird effect on my blood sugar ie tendency to reactive hypoglycaemia ( but then that's not unusual for me ie odd blood sugar).

Anyway make the most of how you feel and long may it last :)

Hi Hurdity,

Thanks for the reply, day 7 and still feeling good with increased energy also.

Ah, I wasn’t sure of the back story if they had done any more testing. I just knew it was a new company. Interesting that you also had a mixed response to norethisterone, I keep expecting the other shoe to drop with migraines/stroppy/bleeding etc as I had with Sequi.  It may well come any day but I’m doing exactly as you say and savouring the moment for now.   :D X

Hi Evie606.

I've been on Evorel Conti for four years. Funny i thought I've been feeling better with EC lately, with increased libido, and thought maybe it has improved with the new manufacturers, but I know they can't change anything like that.
Glad you are doing fine too Evie

I have just started a new box from my latest prescription. I haven't noticed anything significant.
