Can't say I've noticed a similarity to birds nests. The amazing layers of paper made from the wood they chew from my garden fences and the water taken from the pond are real works of art and a perfect home for the wasp grubs. I'm sad we haven't got one this year although today there were a few taking some cat food, left by one of my cats, back to the nests. Protein is all they are after at this time of year as the grubs provide them with their sugary treats as a reward for feeding them.  :)

Do U know jaypo?

I have saved several wasps nests , real works of Art.

We have long strips of bare wood on our sheds where wasps over the years have stripped it for nesting, we can hear them sometimes chewing at it.

Yet another bird killed in our garden, first one was at the front and this one today in the back garden, glad to say,NOT my dogs but I'm wondering what gets them,it's a pigeon or dove, not sure which, just a mass of feathers lying, this time there were "bits" of it in the pile of feathers too,we don't really have a lot of cats in the neighbourhood,so I'm guessing another bird? Would crows get them?

Sparrow hawk looking for grub for a late nest - they usually take the head first ........  always a shock.
