'cos our male does most of the feeding ............ first the mate then any  young hopping around 'cos she'll be on her 2nd brood.  He will feed her when she pops round to see how he's doing  ;D

Yes they are good like that after the missus has done the hard work of building the nest while he's out somewher   ;D. But once the young are grown how do you know who is who? I puzzle over this as I always call mine 'he'. In these gender-fluid times I guess it doesn't matter   ;D

I think ours is a male - there are two and he is the brighter coloured of the pair (I know that's not always reliable though) and we have seen him feed the other one and not the other way round.

I always refer to wrens "she" which is a bit silly really.

Common darter female resting on a bamboo pole in the sunshine: on and off after insects which it ate with relish, dropping wings and stuff onto the ground.

Our blackbirds are slowly returning.  The female who was 'got' round the neck has kind of moulted; though there is a lack of feathers in the area where she was attacked.  All asking for meal worms again  8) and there is singing more regularly.  :-*

Pretty birds, who like magpies, squirrels and rooks will take eggs and nestlings from nests.  Mainly found in woodland locally  8)

Spiders I can cope with but I would run a mile from a field mouse  :o
If a spider “scuttles” (isn’t that a good word?!) across the living room floor, my OH will say…….
“Songbird (‘cause that’s what he calls me  ;) )…..”look at that spider”!
That is his way of saying “I’m scared stiff - get rid of it quick!”  Big baby!
