Did any of you read about the walrus in Norway? Because THE PUBLIC,couldn't leave him alone,he's been euthanised in case he injures them,so sad,yet again his territory (the water) yet because we humans feel the need to go in there, the animal is the one to pay the price  :'(

I read that too.

And did the public need to know about the oldest penguin in Edinburgh Zoo, killed by a fox  :-\.  If a fox can get in what could get out?

Edinburgh zoo is renowned for its escaping animals,I was there a few years back with my daughter when suddenly everyone was told to get indoors ASAP wardens running everywhere, still don't know what escaped, could've been anything from a lion to a rat  ;D

Oh I remember that Jaypo! It was a wild cockapoo! He lives with me now  ;D....

I took my elderly mum to Edinburgh Zoo not so long ago. It's a bit neglected in places I'm sorry to say. Some of the enclosures are so small and run down looking  :-\
I'm not surprised they have "The Great Escape" every now and then!

Yes,when we were there, there were VERY bored looking lions and tigers, enclosures were awful,no space to run or anything,so sad

Cockapoo is "work in progress", Jaypo, but Edinburgh Zoo still won't take him back!
Mind you, I wouldn't change him for anything  ;)

Did you used to see them? I've had three youngsters this year who've just got their red breasts now. The adults disappeared for a few weeks but are back now and just beginning to sing again. It will soon be time for their autumn song to begin. So evocative and heart-tugging somehow.

Yes we had a baby robin earlier in the summer, quite fun watching it learn to fly. Papa robin often comes and bounces along the wall when I go out in the car - he knows I keep a pot of meal worms in the door pocket and comes out to demand them. I think there are also lots of insects under where the car is parked so moving the car churns things up a bit and provides him with some further snacking opportunities.

demand - that's how robins are  ;D.  Ours will follow me around the house from room to room - him outside, singing at me with head on one side.  Ours have been away moulting.

How do you know it's papa and not mama robin?  ;D
