Don't worry.  RSPB won't be interested.  It's survival of the fittest.  It may have recovered enough to get away, unless released where it was found it will be set upon by other pigeons.  Don't stress.

That's fine.  If U hadn't have seen it ......... Nature takes over, often these birds rest then fly away.

Slugs  >:(.  In pots.  Under pots.  In the ice plant leaves.  Never in the hedgehogs  :bang:

My mum used to leave beer in old mugs for the slugs. Not sure making the slugs drunk worked, but it amused me as my parents were teetotal!

Reminds me of a friend is dog becoming supposedly ill. She took her unsteady dog to the vet, who said, “Madam, your dog is drunk!” It turned out that the dog had found a way through the hedge to next door’s garden and raided the compost pile, where they had deposited fermented rice that they had used for home made wine!

You don't want your hedgies eating slugs. They pass on lungworm. Hedgies only eat them if there is literally nothing else. You need to get a toad for slug disposal  :D

My Granny had both a toad and a lizard under the stone step at the front door, I would spend ages watching for both.  Occasionally I would scare the lizard  ;D.  Rarely saw the toad unless the weather was very wet.  There was enough gap for them to live there.

I think the skunk under the porch has finally vacated.  We left some tasty treats out last week and they were gone the next day.  There was evidence of something trying to dig their way back in but the mesh got in the way. Dh didn't smell any skunkiness first thing this morning, good sign.

There mayB a virus from feeding stations or simply old age.  How are the claws and feet, if birds injure their foot pads it can set up 'bumble foot', a strep virus which causes them to hobble and can be fatal.  All part of nature's rich pattern.

I never think about taking birds to rescue.  It will be stressed when handled, especially if it's about to die.  Let Nature take over.  Mammals are a different matter.
