I'd never seen one before I moved to Wiltshire, you don't get them in Scotland,if that was me,I'd have been outside while the may bug enjoyed the house  ;D

They whizz round the lights on our patio  ;D - like dinner plates flying around  :o

We had mason bees investigating the bee hotels again today.  DH needs to build some more.

I haven't seen a may bug this year yet. I really like them. Their underneath colouring is so pretty. I can see they can appear a bit alarming though if you're not that keen on insects. We call them Mizmadoors.

The blackbird is loving the damp weather, its walking miles across our small lawn looking for something tasty to eat with quite a lot if success  :)

They sing in the rain too.  Gentle rain for a few days will do good!

Our ponds are over-flowing
Blbirds and robins have made do with the garden for worms with additions of meal worms, thrown from the kitchen window
Robins look a little damp around the edges  :D

I haven't seen any this year either Taz...... maybe because I haven't walked to the pub for a pint of cider lately  :'( :'(.
I always use to see them down one particular lane on the way to the village pub - I use to run like hell when I saw them. They scare the hell out of me. I'm sure they've got pretty colouring on their bellies but that wont make me like them one bit.  ;D ;D ;D

They are lovely. Beautiful markings underneath and their real name of Cockchafer should give you a giggle 🤣

I had a close encounter with a Tawny Owl last night. It swooped down on something in the field that i was walking next too. My dog's face was a picture, she was like "what the f..k was that?"  :)
