We have a web-cam trail camera thingy which DH puts at various points in the garden, so far we've had his legs, my feet, the local cats, a mouse, a cat eating a mouse, moths .........  ;D but our fav is the hedgehogs  :-* we know we have at least 3 that visit every evening.  I left some meal worms out and he has put the camera close by to see if they bother with them certainly the wild birds aren't hungry enough yet  ::)

When I lived in Singapore  one of the places we lived was right next to an open baby crocodile farm, I often though what if one of then escaped,

but I don't suppose it could get into your flip flops ;D

My mum found a snake in the toilet once :o she had to get the Gardener to fish it out and kill it.

I have removed every weed, all the self sown acqualegia plants, bulbs etc. from the front bed: forked it over and re-set bulbs and acqualegias; cats will love me later  ;D  ::)  ........ I need to buy about 25 more Spring bulbs, add to those the alliums already purchased and hey presto! roll on SPRING  :bounce:

DH sets our trail camera every night in our garden, it's great to see the antics of the neighbourhood cats - they can see mice in the chickens' run but can't get to them ........... keeps them busy for hours  :D

We have a yew tree with a long history  :-* .  It needs trimming, hard.  Cut long story short apparently there are 2 companies in the UK that collect new yew 'sprouts' for cancer treatments.  The harvesting time is July-September so we have missed this year's slot, but I am interested in sending our cuttings because it saves it going either into landfill or in this region, the composting system which is used for heating. We need to cut it back severely to allow more light into our garden.  So we are holding fast with the trimmer until we have more details as to whether our tree will be suitable for collection!

CLKD - Everything this year has been late, after the very cold snap in what passed for spring.
Are you still too late for your yew sprouts?

The Companies don't collect after Sept., they probably have to process and get them to the Lab. in a certain time.

The other thing in our garden is a LOT of dead flies  :o  ....... they seem to have landed everywhere from plants to shed roof and furniture, hung upside down and died ......... cold at night perhaps?

I love mushrooms of all sorts but am too scared to pick any myself. I don't know enough about them to feel safe picking them. There is not much of a margin for error. I would love to be taught where and what type.

Lots of flies here too but not enough of them dead. Also wasps which keep coming in the house.
