By now on le Tour we would have had helicopter shots of the caldera of the Volcano  ::) but it's bleak with all those boulders from previous eruptions.

Looks cold and damp.  Cold up there despite the locality.  Have read a book recently about a man who cheated death when a Columbian volcano erupted a day earlier than forecast.  Really interesting.

Ive walked to the top of Vesuvius, it was dirty and rubbly, I wouldnt bother again  ;D I think Etna rumbles regularly, would have been nice to have some views of it though  :)

Poor Geraint  :'(

A good massage will help - shall we go and offer  ;D. Will have a lookC at the hi-lights later.

I have a piece of Versuvias somewhere given to me by a friend.

The book: "Through a harrowing first-person account of an eruption and its aftermath, Surviving Galeras reveals the fascinating, high-risk realm of volcanology and explores the profound impact volcanoes have had on the earth's landscapes and civilizations.

In 1993, Stanley Williams, an eminent volcanologist, was standing on top of a Colombian volcano called Galeras when it erupted "

I walked to the top of Vesuvius also.  I fell over before I'd even started, and a very elderly man helped me up.

Husband thought is was hilarious. ::)

Geraint is good, when he stays on the bike.  Can't be guaranteed though. :(

I dont think it was thrown it looked like the road was bumpy and they jump out sometimes, same happens on the cobbles in the spring.
