Because Zoos [in Germany] are deciding which animals to cull in order to keep others alive ......... one Keeper was saying last night that it costs ?45,000 per week to feed [can't remember which Zoo] which we hoped included Staff wages but it wasn't clear  :-\.  Because this is a World Wide problem not many Zoos can help by taking in more species, plus there aren't flights on which to move animals.

This isn't about animals having the virus but the fact that visitors are banned.  Visitors that would bring monies in through the gate to keep Zoos running ........... without visitors money soon runs out.  Conservation will suffer short term  :'(

Christ I hadn't even thought about that. Have just googled and loads of animal shelters and conservation organisations that care for animals that rely on visitor income are suffering. Surely the govt should help out here too?

What's 'christ' got to do with it  :-\

I think there should be monies put aside especially with the amount of aid sent to the 3rd World this week.

I can't wait to get back to a) garden centres and b) zoos to help get Life back to normal.

Sad news from Chester today  :'( and I fear that other collections will close if the public aren't allowed in.
