Arghh..back to teenage years..spots and weight gain!!!
« on: May 26, 2020, 07:18:38 AM »

I started on utrageston 100 tablet and the estrogen patches about 6 weeks ago.  Thankfully hot sweaty flushes have stopped and feeling a bit better mentally.  I haven't noticed ANY difference in hair, in fact if anything it's been worse, thinner and drier, I have definitely gained weight around my middle and my face has developed a bit of a rash across my cheekbones...like tiny spots or something and I have also started to come out in spots on my chin!  I;ve never had bad skin and don't want it now!

Anyone any ideas...can HRT cause this?!

my sleep better and mood now but my flushes since upping the estrogen are worse but then on 2 pumps get watery discharge . and as i've had hysterectomy i thought progesterone would improve my hair and it has the condition but feels thinner and has now started shedding more again

Yes, I wondered about stopping, then wondered , as my doctor has been not v helpful and doesn't seem to be v informed about HRT and menopause, if I ought to see a specialist menopause doctor but was worried about on going costs as meno doesn't stop after a few months...would be years I guess! But doctor doesn't seem inclined to mess with dosage, I get the impression he and she (seen both) think I should just take it, one size fits all as it were.

Just weighed myself and have put on half a stone in 6 weeks...and I have been the same weight-ish for 20 years so am NOT happy! Mostly round my middle I think.  Despite doing a LOT more exercise as working from home so able too...10 mile walk yesterday, 10k a week run , and am fairly active on bike etc

I wonder whether I should just stop HRT and suffer...?.anxiety, low moods (but still get those a bit, but don't we all ...strange times at moment too) I have had symptoms for a few years and thought I could have depression slightly but wasn't sure if that or meno. I think perhaps meno?.but was determined not to go onto HRT.  Until they took my mirena out then BAM...hot flush city and was AWFUL!
