HRT for Atrophy.
« on: May 20, 2020, 06:01:20 AM »

Sorry for yet another question. Is anyone on full HRT for their Atrophy. The Ovestin is working a little alongside Vagifem., only been on the Ovestin for 11 days. Have woken burning and stinging. When I was working, I was on Kliovance for a short time. This wretched ailment is ruining my day to day life. Replies appreciated.

Yes, it's one of the reasons I wanted to go back on it. Some women need both and it should help. Can take a while to work though, so the sooner the better.

Just spoken to the Doctor, he is going to prescribe three months HRT and he suggested I may be sensitive to Vagifem and to reduce to two a week again. Thank you for responding.

Let us know how you go Midnight Shadow.
I'm going through the same problems with atrophy.
Saw my doctor the other day and I'm trying Remifemin to see if that gives improvement, as well as Ovestin (externally), Vagifem (got to do another week loading again), and yes.

If that doesn't work she talking about starting HRT
Good luck Midnight Shadow

Although i was using Vagifem i had to go onto full HRT to get it until control, VA, apart from a few more palpitations has been my only menopause issue.

If you are sensitive to 'vagifem', then the GP should advise 'ovestin' instead?

Some are sensitive to the fillers/packaging rather than the active ingredient.  However, it may be that you are not using enough! it's a very small amount of hormone replacement.  I think with experience as well as hindsight that you either stop it completely or do a reload for 2 weeks ........

What's Remifemin when it's up and dressed?

I started Ovestin start of last year, but then I complain after 6 months that it wasn't working as well,my doctor put me on Vagifem. All my pain is external, no pain on the inside or when I have sex.

Remifemin is a herbal tablets containing mainly black cohosh. I take one in the morning and one at night.

Tnx.  Which won't replace hormones.  Also, black cohash etc. is for short term use?
