After feeling horrendous for the past 4 weeks I need some help.
My GP is on indefinite leave and the Locum they have replaced her with doesn't give a (fill in the expletive of your choice here!)
I have had such severe dizziness, numbness down the side of my body, tingling extremities, etc for over 2 weeks now (alongside other Panic related symptoms) It comes and goes ..
I know given my recent Panic Attack it could be this, it most likely is Hormone related as I had (I think) a bad reaction to Provera, which I have stopped taking, but it is petrifying me.
It doesn't help that my Cardiology Assessment has been cancelled too so I worry it could be my heart!
My Locum GP prescriped Stemetil for Labyrinthisis/ Vertigo, but never asked to see me at all.
So, I decided to seek out a Menopause Specialist, if only to get me on some form of HRT that I might get on with, in the hope I feel better and some of the symptoms go, I am having to go Private, which is a struggle but I cannot function at the moment without getting some sort of help.
Has anyone got any advice about seeing a Specialist?

I am not sure how much help this will be but I had Labyrinthitis at the same time as my last period. I remember  because I was also diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. How's your luck I hear you cry lol!

I was given some treatment for the dizziness and told to keep moving as this helps the brain to override the signals it is receiving from the infected ear. The whole business didn't last long and has never recurred fortunately. I often wondered if there was an hormonal element to the Labyrinthitis or if it was just coincidental.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to advise you about a specialist.

Hi my advice would be to write everything down before you go so you don't forget anything.  I wrote down all my symptoms, no mater how big or small or how obscure they were.  I wrote down all medications and strategies I'd tried. Then i wrote a list of questions.

When I have had dizziness in the past caused by an ear infection or virus, I found that paracetamol did suppress the dizziness enough to make it more bearable.
