Patches or tablets differences
« on: May 13, 2020, 07:00:59 PM »

I've been swapped from sequi patches to femiston 1/10.

I've had an awful 4 weeks of emotions normally only lasts a week but this anxiety and low mood just won't shift.

I'm sorry to seem unknowledgeable (which I am) but I thought everel sequi patches and the new femiston 1/10 tablets were the same ?  Are they different strengths ? I don't understand which part of the hrt helps the mood either.

Hi DS68

I don't know much about patches or tablets, as I use gel, but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

As far as I know, the oestrogen part of the HRT is the "feel good" hormone, and will lift your mood.  The prog part is a mood suppresor, and some ladies feel their mood is adversly affected by it,.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along and explain more fully

Hi

So sorry to bother you but I had telephone appointment today ref my swap from patches to femiston, due to shortage of patches. I spoke to the nurse at the docs surgery who I find to be quite empathetic and she's around same age so I hope understands.

Explained my mood drop since the swap to femiston with hardly any up days mostly just down all the time.  She said the femiston were not the same strength as the patches and that maybe a reason. She also suggested a swap to gel and a tablet combi.  I wanted to ask what this will feel like as I'm so scared to sink into a darker place than I am.  I'm going to pick up prescription this afternoon. Could you maybe advice how I take and what may happen.  Can send details once I have prescription. X
