Adam Henson appears to suggest on Country File that his beasts are tested annually.  I remember having the BCG jab at age 13. 

My Paternal Gran also had a 'goitre' removed which was supposedly related to TB.  In 1983 TB was becoming a problem in some Universities due to the number of overseas students arriving.

DEFRA haven't tested any of the badgers that have been culled in TB areas.  Also many badgers seen dead on the roadside may not been the results of vehicle collisions.
