Uterogestan and depression

Uterogestan and depression anybody?
Been on oestrogel and uterogestan for 7 weeks with head ache every day and awful depression.
I went on hrt again for night sweats and that's the only symptom I had.
Before this my mood was very good , I was having hot sweats but at least I was happy about it!!
Now I'm practically suicidal and so down.
Please help.

Sorry to hear this Macca65. Are you taking the utrogestan every day and what dose and by what route ie oral or vaginal? Also what dose of oestrogel? Can you remind us of your menopausal status ie age, periods and cycle etc before you started the HRT? Some of us find utrogestan causes depressive symptoms and headaches and could not contemplate taking it daily. Vaginally can mitigate this but you probably wouldn't want to take it by this route every day. Some of us have it cyclically but the downside is having a withdrawal bleed but the idea is to find a dose and route that makes you feel better on HRT than off it otheriwse what's the point ( except to protect bones and heart but you don;t want to be miserable though!).

changes can be scary, even when we want them

One shouldn't take a medication which makes 1 suicidal. Off to your GP pronto and discuss other routes of delivering HRT. As a long-term depression victim, controlled in the main by appropriate anti-depressant medication, there is no way I would continue with a drug that made me feel unsafe. Been there, done that
Let us know how you get on. Where you prone to depression previously?
