The chancellor has just been throwing some big numbers about. Must have found a money tree becuase he didn't say much about where it's all going to come from.

They have had 10 years to spend money so why now. It will just be patching up the damage they are responsible for anyway.

Taxes will rise. Eventually.
Money will have to be sourced probably by heavy borrowing.

Hello ladies.
Shadyglade - I agree with your comment. Ten years of cuts have taken their toll not surprisingly. The National Debt has actually doubled during that time from ?800 billion after Gordon Brown to ?1.7 trillion now. All governments borrow money but the austerity plan was supposed to eliminate all borrowing by 2015.
Take care.

1st World countries can't exist without some form of borrowing. Particularly as right now the rate has been dropped to help small businesses etc., other essentials have to be covered somehow.

Can I do the same thing? I'll make do with only a million or too and my grandchildren will pay it back eventually... perhaps.

Surely the virus is an environmental issue - not as many flights, not many people travelling - what more do you want? They have got HS2 ......... despite the spiralling costs etc. etc. etc..
