I've just found out that my combined pill (Loestrin 30) is being discontinued.

I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday. I've had such a struggle with doctors even just getting to the point where they gave it to me.

I know this graphic exists because I've seen it. But I don't know what to google.

It shows where all the pills sit compared to each other, some at the higher end of the oestrogen scale, some at the lesser end.

Obviously I need to look for a replacement for Loestrin, something at the low end of the oestrogen scale and with norethisterone, because that's what I get on well with.

Please help.

There's a table on here showing the equivalent pills. It looks like there isn't a direct equivalent to Loestrin 30 x

Oh my I'm in exactly the same boat.  I am in the UK and Loestrin 30 hasn't been available for 3 months now.  I am 46 and this pill has really helped with the dreaded ectopic heartbeats, but since they discontinued it I can't find anything that works for me.  I have tried Microgynon and Femondene and neither are the same combination of Oestrogen and Progestin.  I'm thinking of trying without (which is scary lol).  I have found this link awesome as it gives you a really good idea of how much progestin and Oestrogen is in each pill.  There is as far as I can tell only 2 other pills that has the same kind of progestin in - Norimin and Brevinor.  I don't think Norimin is available anymore but Brevinor is available.  I hope this is helpful, but I feel your pain.... x

I'm not doing so good at the moment. It doesn't take much to tip me over the edge this past while.

I was on Microgynon before (many years ago) and that seemed to work fine at the time.

I have to make an appointment to go at some point over the summer.

I was taking the Norethisterone to deal with the flooding. But maybe at 2/3 years after that started happening it will have stopped by then?

I know I'll have to sign a form saying I accept the risks of taking the combined pill (I'll be 50 by the time the summer comes round), but I really can't cope with the thought that my body could go haywire like it was doing before, and I'd end up flooding somewhere outside again.

I wish I'd been born a man.

Brevinor was my pill for 20 years or so and I preferred it to Loestrin when I tried them again in peri. You get a bit more oestrogen which controls your own more.

Focus, I've just got my gp to prescribe me microgynon. Opposite end of the ladder from my migraine causing gederal...... Fingers crossed.

Have u identified an option for yourself?
