Lower Dosage Patch Help
« on: January 24, 2020, 07:53:48 PM »

My usual HRT patch is Everol 100mg of which I only have two left. On picking up my prescription today, the Dr's have prescribed me Elleste Solo 80mg they have only given me a month's supply and according to Everol stock update the 100's aren't going to be available until March, so I'm likely to be on the 80's for 2 months. As anyone else been given a lower dose, if so have you found symptoms returning? I'm just a little concerned that the difference in dosage may have an impact. Thanks

Just wondering, Elleste Solo is a tablet instead of you using a patch?
So my guess is they've prescribed the maximum tablet dose instead of maximum patch dose?
They do work differently, so you might have to try it to see how you get on.

Would they not just swap you to another patch 'that's 100?
Hope you can work something out that suits you  :)

I've had the opposite as I was on 75 mcg estradot then estraderm and now Elleste 80 but I cut down anyway to 62.5 mcg. I am absorbing more I think from the Elleste than the estradot anyway - but not sure about the Evorel? They should really have given you extra so you could cut one up and use 1 1/4 patches?

You could try for a couple of weeks or so and then if symptoms return cut one up into 4 and ask for a new prescription with more patches to take into account that you will be using them up quicker? Bit mean to only give you one month especially if you are paying!!!

Yes it's the patch MX80.
I agree Hurdity. While I still have two 100mg Everol left I'm alternating with the 80's. I have had a look at the patch availability on the BMS website and there are other 100mg patches available, so not sure why they couldn't be prescribed. Will see what happens.
