Prof Studd told me that for women who suffer with reproductive anxiety/depression, that gets much worse during peri, usually need levels above 800pmol before they feel well again.
It stands to reason women will need very different levels, depending on their physiology. Diabetics take very different levels of insulin etc.
I strongly suspect many women simply aren't on nearly enough oestrogen, and that if they raise their dose they don't persevere with it for nearly long enough. It's so cruel because if you're feeling horribly low and anxious due to low oestrogen then you simply cannot handle the temporary increase in anxiety that raising your levels bring - even though ultimately the higher level might well be beneficial. So cruel.
