New to Sandrina gel
« on: December 19, 2019, 09:02:23 PM »

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you are all well!  :)

Let me start by saying I have a very stressful job, and I am trying to look for an alternative!

I haven't had a period for 9 months so I guess I'm in meno?

About 6 months ago I tried evorel sequi but it made me feel rubbish, so I tried the ‘natural' route. Ie:doing nothing!

I decided to see a private meno specialist who has suggested 2grams of sandrina gel daily, and if everything is ok I will get a Mirena coil fitted.

So I was a bit disappointed with the gel as a patch would seem easier? Also I have to put it on my arms, which just seems a bit ‘inconvenient'? Should I go back and ask for a patch? Or should I just try the gel to see how my body reacts first?

I barely have time to do anything due to work! And now I have to wait for gel to dry every day ???!!  :o

I use estrogel, which I understand drys quicker than sandrina. This can go on arms and shoulders but I put on inner thighs, this takes about 5 mins to dry rubbing it in.

I've never used patches but the convenience of them is certainly appealing!

I have got used to the gel though now and it seems to be working well (fingers crossed).

You can put Sandrena on thighs if more convenient. Rub it in well. It will stay sticky for quite a long time, but don't let that put you off, just get dressed over the stickiness. I agree that patches are far more convenient, but as there are supply problems with most patches at the moment, this may be why you have been prescribed gel. You could switch to a patch if/when they become easier to obtain.

Thanks Joaniepat. That makes sense about patches being in short supply. I think the doctor did mention it but I was so confused trying to take in so much information at once!  ::)

Thanks Bobidy. Does it matter where you use it on the thighs? I was thinking of using it on the fronts of my thighs?

Guess we just have to stick with it and see what happens! Fingers crossed x
