How to Stop Nuisance Calls
« on: November 27, 2019, 09:05:27 PM »

Anyone watch last night?

Interesting.  I may get it on catch up ..........

When I have time I engage real cold calls ........ OK I've had an accident but I can't remember due to head injury, can you tell me what exactly happened by which time they have usually rung off.   :D

Or you can subscribe to BT's spam box service. You just dial 1572 after the nuisance call and it sends that number to your spam box and they can't get through to you again.

I like the whistle idea, you could do that first  ;D

Does 1 have to pay for 1572?

No, it's free.

We have caller display and a number blocking phone.  We have had one for years and it works very well.

Advice if you want to get one though.  Don't but the BT one as it's horrendously difficult to use.

We are on the preference scheme but still get lots of nuisance calls.
I ask them to hold and then take the phone to the toilet and flush it.
Bit childish I know but it make me feel better.

 ;D ........ we could write a book  8)

Many years ago I had several deep breather calls - at the time I worked for a psychologist: "Well hello, if you want to talk with a counsellor about your problems then give me your 'phone number and I will pass it to my boss who is a Psychologist".  Surprisingly after 3 calls I never heard from him again  ;D

So many scammers clone UK numbers, so it is difficult to find out the owners.  I have done 1471 or looked on-line but it hasn't given me much info..  On the programme it showed a warehouse full of people calling numbers in a scamming set-up.
