Not agreeing is completely ok! That’s the point of diversity. Life would be dull if we all agreed.

The PC stuff is more for macro issues dealing with many people, when it’s harder to have a rational conversation so extremes can redress the balance to some degree. This is also why personal conversations made public don’t work (Prince Andrew springs to mind...) as context is everything.

Teresa - had your Mum been more aware that would not have been necessary, don't make excuses for her. She was the adult!  My sister remains the 'golden girl' and Mum's 93.

Children should never have to protect the parent but very often they do.  I took Dad's side ......... which my Mum hated.  It shouldn't be necessary though.
