Anxiety, heart condition or meno symptoms ?
« on: November 13, 2019, 09:42:30 AM »

Morning Ladies

Just need some advice and reassurance as no one else seems to understand or even care :-\
I am age 60 currently using 2 pumps of oestrogel  1 am 1 pm along with 7 day northisterone every 6 weeks.

I wake in the morning feel ok. Shower apply 1 pump of gel and sort my self out. usually about 10.00am I am out in the shops or I take the dog for a walk or recently iv joined the gym so do a bit (only a bit) there. Usually the symptoms start same time every day which are.
Sweating
Lightheaded (worse symptom feel like im about to faint}
Weakness jelly legs
Spacey head feel like im not in the moment
Tense
Some times palpitations.

I usually start to feel better by lunch time although the light-headedness stays with me.

I had ecg last year, all ok. I eat regular meals as I first thought it was low blood sugar, was tested and all ok. GP keeps telling me its anxiety but why the same time every day??

Anyone else feel like this??

HI. I have had this during Peri and like you had an ECG done all fine.
It comes and goes. I will have it for a day or maybe a week then be OK for months.

Do you take blood pressure medications? I do and I wonder if it is to do with the mix of
hormones/blood sugar and blood pressure.

If I eat and take deep breaths it does tend to get better.
Maybe put a phone call into the GP to get some advice.

Hi Warwick01 - I would be with Dotty, try applying both pumps in the morning.  I am on 4 pumps a day and do them all at once.  I have never split the dose.

I had similar issues right at the very beginning and it probably means not enough oestrogen.  Depends how old you are.  It could be as you are moving through meno your own oestrogen is dropping off more and this is causing re emergence of the symptoms.

Hi Ladies

Thanks for your replies. I was originally on 4 pumps of gel but found I was getting more jitters + anxiety. Been on 2 pumps a few months now, also the last 2 years my thyroid is all over the place. Been on Leveroxine for 20 years but last 2 years goes from under when I need 125mcg to over when I need to reduce to 100mcg. GP appears to ignore my symptoms and just says its anxiety  :-\ :-\

I will try 1.5 tomorrow morning and see what happens.

Its just the combination of feeling faint. sweating anxiety that makes me feel I have a medical problem  :'(

Hey Warwick - the thyroid issue can make a huge difference. I have read here that ladies on lenvothyroxin can have huge issues with balance when the thyroid and the hrt go out of bonk. I don't have problems with thyroid but check out the search bar there are loads of threads from ladies with problems like that.  You might get a lightbulb moment if you read through them x

Hi there - just to say if it was low blood sugar with those symptoms you would definitely know as you would be craving food and sweet things as you got to the sweating and trembly, feeling weak stage - as this is what happens to me (not diabetic but do get these symptoms). If you're not hungry or feel you desparately need sugar when you have these symptoms or if they are not relieved by eating, then it is likely to be something else - as the others said maybe thyroid or oestrogen and the interplay with your metabolism or heart?

As a matter of interest though - what do you have for breakfast - because interesting that you are taking exercise every morning and it happens? I get my (low blood sugar) symptoms when taking vigorous exercise in the morning or going for walks late morning, unless I've had a big breakfast and always carry snacks with me as it's a right pain (getting the shakes etc!). Testing your blood sugar won't show anything if you are not diabetic (mine's normal but I still get it - hypoglycaemia symptoms) but the crucial thing is whether you need/crave food when it happens?

Not sure I have anything to add, but just wanted to say I came on here this morning to research exact same symptoms I've been having for the last 4-6 weeks!

I'm on Novofem (switched from Elleste Duet due to HRT shortages) and although they are meant to be identical, I wondered if there could be some slight change which has had an impact. That said, I took Novofem for about 2 months without any problems.

Symptoms for me are a tension in my chest, acid reflux feeling, light-headedness/spaced out and feeling slightly sick. The last couple of occasions have co-incided with me driving in busy traffic, where I've felt suddenly overwhelmed and panicky. I had one last night and I had to ask my passenger to stop talking while I opened the windows (it was 5c outside!) and did some controlled breathing.
Useful to know it's not just me, but not sure what to do, all the same. I've been on HRT for about 4 years with no problems.
