:( Perimenopause femoston bleeding
« on: September 26, 2019, 11:24:28 AM »

Hi all,

Hope you can help me, I'll do a quick run through of my history.

I'm 28, and when I was 21 I had Hodgkin's lymphoma, twice, ended up having a stem cell transplant, depleted my ovarian reserve and put my into early menopause, so I went on HRT. Then, I miraculously fell pregnant and had a little girl. Since then I had some periods, quite sporadic and irregular (87,55,45 day cycles) along with perimenopausal symptoms. So I went back on femoston 2/10.

I had a normal period on 13th September, then started femoston on 21st September and I've started bleeding again yesterday (25th September) and feeling really lethargic today. Has anyone had any experience with this? I ask here as it's really hard to get through to my hospital for advice and I thought I'd check here to see if it is serious or normal

Thank you in advance, your advice has always been so helpful when I've posted before so massive thanks x

Hi I remember your posts when you thought you were pregnant, so congratulations on your little girl.

When you start hrt breakthrough bleeding can happen, so I'd say it's nothing to worry about at the moment x

Hi Dotty, thanks for replying :)

It's still going, hoping it's just gonna be 5/7 days like normal, but who knows.

I have left a message with the clinic but they haven't got back to me yet.

Thanks for making me feel bit better though.

Also, wow that seems so long ago when I was wondering if it was possible to get pregnant and then it actually happened. I was so shocked!! She's 16months old now! Crazy how time flies!

Hi Jeshikah

Hi there - I remember your posts too so   :congrats: from me too! How lovely to have a daughter!

re the bleeding - as it started so soon after your last period and within days of starting the (oestrogen only part of) the HRT then it is unlikely to be due to that but most likely due to your own erratic cycle. Hopefully as Dotty says it is just breathrough bleeding for whatever reason and the Femsoton will regulate your cycle eventually.

However if you are concerned or the bleeding is very different fromn what you expect eg heavy etc or you are worried in anyway - do have a word with your doctor.

Hurdity x
