Progesterone bleeding
« on: August 31, 2019, 11:13:15 AM »

Hi

I started Evorel sequi four months ago. I'm 41 and had an ovary removed a few years ago hence the need for it. Before this I was getting increasingly irregular periods.

I started my first box on day one of my period, however I started bleeding three or four days after starting the conti (progesterone) patches. I continued the course and next month again I started bleeding at the same time. It's very much like a period and I'm not getting any other bleeding through the month.

I saw my GP a few weeks ago and she didn't have any advice beyond wait and see. So this time around I decided to try and rebase myself so I stopped the conti patches after my period started. I expected to keep bleeding but actually this stopped almost as quickly.

Anyone got any thoughts? Why would I be bleeding so early into the progesterone phase? Thanks xx

Hi Starbaby

 :welcomemm:

As MicheleMaBelle says - hopefully the bleeding and timing of it will settle but if it hasn't after a couple of months then you might need to tweak the timing so that you can sync your own cycle ( if that's what it is) with the HRT. Also because you hadn't had a period for a few months your cycles will have been anovulatory and your womb lining could have built up - so it is coming away more readily in response to the progestogen maybe? That's another possible explanation?

Thanks both. Guess I just have to be patient and hopefully things will settle down.
