You need to massage round your ear hole, and wiggle the cartiligey bit just in front, and the back, to help get it down
I used some ear drops and it got worse after a while which I think was when the stuff got under the wax and my ear was inflamed, then it sorted itself.
I would keep taking ibuprofen to help with inflammation for a couple of days.
Did you carry on needing ibuprofen after you had finished the ear drops? I have been on them for 72 hours now and only a slight improvement. Overall I don't feel quite as bad as on sat/Sun but still have the same discomfort in the ear.
I think it is probably worth having a word with the pharmacist to see how long these things should take, and if there is a next step. I have only ever used the non antibiotic ear drops and they need to be used for 5 days - the discomfort lasted about 3. (My GP at the time would not prescribe any antibiotics unless as a last resort so I got the steroid-only stuff after repeated visits and it didn't work

)
I have a friend who uses the sofradex as she has hearing aids and gets irritation from those, so she uses it if she gets a flare up but she rings up and gets a prescription as soon as they seem iffy - will see her on weds.
