Provera 25mg
« on: August 02, 2019, 11:21:25 AM »

I'm taking provera 25mg continuously, been on it for 6 weeks now, since then I have had fatigue like no business, I have no motivation whatsoever, feel as flat as a pancake, I just want to stay in bed all day, I was also the same when taking utrogestan, I really don't know what to do, I'm thinking I might just stop hrt altogether  :(

I am 57 and cannot take any type of progesterone continuously Sjays so I don't.  I take Utrogestan on a cycle and have a bleed which is a small price to pay to feel better.  GPs and consultants all tried to push me to continuous because I am post meno but it just wont work.  I had all the symptoms you described and a few more.  I was on 5mg Provera and was on my knees 25mg seems rather high?

Hi Sjays

 :welcomemm:

Hopefully you meant to type 2.5 mg not 25mg
For continuous use it's either 2.5mg or 5mg daily of Provera

Hi sjays, I started taking provera 5mg daily just over a month ago (also on everol 75mcg). I've had 4 break though bleeds lasting approx 4 days (light) with migraine & cramps day prior to them starting within the last 6 weeks. I'm not unduly worried as I know a new HRT regime can result in short term issues, will keep an eye on it though. Generally I feel much better in myself, good energy levels (some days better than others but def improvement), sleep much better which is probably contributing to feel good generally.
Sjay it all depends how debilitatig your symptoms are & how they are impacting on your life, it may be that you need to give the provera longer (if you are able to put up with it) if not back to GP/nurse or whoever you see that is best placed to advise you in relation to where to go from here. I hope you find something that works for you as it is an awful time when you feel so unwell, you have high hopes and then they appear dashed, hopefully not for long though!! x
