Just when I thought I could relax!
« on: July 20, 2019, 08:59:44 AM »

So, after my MRI for problems with womb being diagnosed as benign, my surgery texted me to make a telephone appointment with my GP. No real explanation apart from she wants to talk about some advice she has received. Me, thinking she has got the letter from my consultant about the mini-pill, was like okay. Fast forward... she rings and says you remember that ultrasound you had in 2016(!) well it said you had a fatty lump in your kidney and the consultant never got back to me so I think we should repeat the scan as you have been having right side abdominal pain. Cut to me being sent into a paroxysm of panic as I thought the issue was sorted. Now I have to wait until August for an appointment with a gastroenterologist and wait further for another ultrasound. I had hoped to go on holiday next week without health anxiety looming large. Any advice, experience of this?
I have bowel issues (had them since a child) and constant dull ache in right side but all blood tests are now normal.
Will this ever end?!

Sorry no experience, but if you've had it for 3 years and it hasn't got worse it is unlikely to be sinister. Hopefully someone with more experience will be along soon but I'd say try to enjoy your holiday without worrying about it.

Hi Ambergirl,

I'm sure your gp will be just covering everything, but of course it creates worry for you.

Can you ask for a cancellation ultrasound appointment? Go on the list for a cancellation.

Did the GP not follow up either  >:( surely the Practice had a copy of the Report. !!!  If it hasn't got worse I don't think that you need worry too much.  Go on your holiday, make a list of how you feel on your return and take to the appt..

Thanks for the advice. Pain in side is worse but it goes right up to where my bra line is and that feels tender all the time. I hope to get another ultrasound in late August so just have to keep soldiering on.  :sigh: :sigh: :sigh: :sigh:

August isn't long to wait - once the holiday is over ;-). Take some pain relief?
