Scan / biopsy question

Hi everyone
I had a uterine scan earlier this year. The radiographer said my lining was patchy but nothing much else to see. She wasn't sure whether the patchiness could be due to using the Utro PV or not. I am on 100mcg patch and 100mg utrogestan PV every other day, and I don't bleed. Following the scan, my GP corresponded with Mr Panay's clinic (which I discharged myself from last Nov) about the lining being 7mm (which I wasn't aware of before today), and now I have been referred for a Gynae consult at the local hospital for further examination and biopsy.
I have looked up 'lining thickness post-menopause' and found many places/research which state that biopsy is only advised if lining is 11mm or more (where there's no bleeding). E.g. here, where one doc states that thickness between 8 and 15mm is acceptable for women on HRT.
https://www.researchgate.net/post/Is_there_any_standard_of_endometrial_thickness_under_transvaginal_sonography_which_indicates_the_need_for_further_hysteroscopic_diagnosis
and here
https://obgyn.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/uog.1704
I can take print-outs to the appt but does anyone have any personal experience of this? I would rather not be messed about with biopsies etc if there is no real need.
Thank you

Hi
Just to confuse matters, Due to bleeding on esradot and utrogeston I had to have a hysteroscopy as my lining was 4.5mm. Was told guidelines are now anything over 4mm?
Hasn't answered the question of why I still gave the bleeds either.
All the best

Hi Bo. I'm wondering if the fact that the lining is patchy makes the difference? When I had my scan showing 6mm I was told that no biopsy was required as the lining was 'uniform' but that if it had shown darker/lighter patches then this would flag up a need for further investigation.
I would have it done as then you at least know that things are ok rather than possibly worrying about it in the back of your mind?

Hello ladies, I was just reading your posts and wondering if it is a routine thing to have scans when you are on hrt? Or is this something you organised yourselves? Did you have symptoms to prompt you to have a scan?
I'm having slight aches on my left side and reading your posts, made me think if I should have a scan.. Thank you. X
