I posted this to ultogestan/estrogel support group, but not many responses. I will hopefully get more input here:

Hi,

I have been on estrogel (well, oestrodose, but aren't they the same?) for 2.5 weeks now. Still trying to guage the right dosage, timing and application location. I wanted to share an observation and ask for advice please.

When I apply it to my inner thighs, I get bloating. On my upper arms, not as much. Does that mean I absorb less when I bloat less?

Sleep is still a mess.

When I apply it on my upper arms, I wake up with water retention - I can tell as I cannot take my rings off. In his book Natural Hormone Balance, Uzzi Reiss says this is an indication of excess estrogen, but is it really? My boobs don't think so. Very confused. I am only on 1 pump.

Where do you absorb it the best?

Thank you xx

Hello Nicky boo
I have been using the gel for 6 months and the clinic told me to put it on my thigh but I've been putting it on the in side  of my arm as the information sheet on the gel said it was better. That being said I've been feeling bloated have nausea and my boobs have grown and are painful. In the last few weeks I can add headaches :'(
I have been using two pumps as this helped me with my sleeping

Hi Michellelouise,

Thanks for your response. I have been reading Uzzi Reiss's Natural Hormone Balance book as recommended on this site. It sounds like you may be taking too much oestrogen.

I have endometriosis so I am trying to take as little as possible however, my sleep is suffering. If I increase the dosage, I get stomach cramps and tummy pain and cannot sleep either. How can one win?  I may even stop this altogether. So fed up :-(

My endo specialist told me that I am in control and can up increase and decrease how many pumps I use based on how I feel rather than stick with the same dosage. I am in peri some days I am producing more oestrogen than the others and even 1 pump is excess.

Are you peri or post?

Best of luck with it all.
