Interesting. I got utrogestan prescribed from that practice about two months ago. I felt terrible on it, so am no longer taking it but clearly I'd have been told to take something else according to their new “rules.” I'm afraid I find the lack of menopause treatment knowledge at the practice appalling, even though the doctors are relatively kind. I see a private specialist now. Why not try a different formulation?  Lots of women don't get on well with utrogestan.

I was wondering if it was a name problem too. When I asked the gp for it he could only find the 200mg vaginal pesaries, not the 100mg (x2) I had asked for. The 200 are supposed to be for ivf, no mention of hrt in the info leaflet. The 100mg normaly prescribed for hrt comes under micronised progesterone not utrogeston. Might be worth asking for that in case that can be prescribed.

Julien  I'm in Scotland and was at my GP today as im not getting on with combined patch of everol sequi. I asked about utrogestan and my GP is going to contact a menopause specialist to ask about it and what the ratio of estrogen to progesterone needs to be? I didn't understand this part but I've to contact my GP in 2wks time and will see if will be prescribed 🙄 What a carry on!

I had to challenge my CCG recently about another health matter. What I did was find the person on the CCG responsible for my issues, emailed them for a meeting which they agreed to and within 12 months there was a change of policy and my health matter was resolved.

It is so worth meeting with your CCG and getting as much info as you can to support your case. If you can get other local women's views that will really help to.
