Can you not even have local HRT for the VA? It is much weaker but can really help with VA.

Hi peppers. Welcome to the forum.
Please dont feel embarrassed. Lots of us have VA and whilst I know how devastating the diagnosis can feel at first but be assured there are options and  treatments can help enormously please dont think you have to just put up with it . There is hope.
One of our members maryjane has done a podcast about VA. I dont know how to link it so maybe someone else would be kind enough to do so for you..

I am also wondering if you would be able to use a low dose topical(local) eastrogen. But obviously I dont know your medical history or conditions.

Many of us find the "yes" moisturisers good. They are non hormonal. It's important to keep the whole area including the  vulva moisturised And it's never too late to start. You may be able to get it on prescription but it is available over the counter. It's not a lubricant like you would use for sex it is longer acting.

Regarding the wider symptoms of meno I think  it would be an idea to ask your doc for a referral to a specialist especially  in view of your young age. You deserve to have expert help.and support.

If you go to the home page here and click on WHAT DO I DO ABOUT IT"  there is info about hormonal and non hormonal options for symptom relief and lots of other advice too.

ts wonderful to have you join us so feel free to ask as much as you want to. We all understand the psychological impact of meno as well as the physical and there is lots of experience and support on here but I'm wondering if you might also want to look at  "the daisy network". . Have you heard of them? They are a charity with support info and advice for ladies in early menopause and with POI.  Most are under 40. They have a website if you Google it.

Although it might feel like it at the moment you are most definitely not alone Peppers.
Very best wishes to you. X

Thank you ask for your kind replies.

I am trying to use estriol cream at the moment, whilst my Dr writes to a haematologist to see if there is anything else I can go on. I was struggling with the tube it was very uncomfortable and there was some bleeding at first, which made me feel worse.

I feel like I hit rock bottom and wondered how I was keeping on going.

The night sweats are horrendous, every night hardly sleeping because I'm waking up covered head to toe in sweat to the point in having to change the sheets every night. I've also recently been told I have cfs/me so I'm struggling to manage that and this together.

I'm glad I found this forum so I could get some ladies to talk to who understand, I really need some support right now

Hi Peppers. Don't despair as there are different treatments available to try to alleviate some of the symptoms of meno apart from HRT but as you are so young then I agree with Tc that you would benefit from a referral to a specialist as oestrogen has a protective effect on heart and bones as I'm sure you know. Do you mind sharing what your particular medical condition is as others on here have been told, sweepingly, that they are not allowed HRT due to a medical condition which has been the wrong information.

As for night sweats a medication for blood pressure called Dixarit is also used to help control menopausal flushes and sweats so it may be possible for you to at least be relieved of this most debilitating symptom.

You will find lots of help and support on here so please don't feel embarrassed about asking us anything. If you want to discuss more personal/intimate problems then there is a section called Private Lives which is only accessible to forum members rather than the wider internet.

I'm a bit of a complicated case to say the least  :) I have factor IV lydons which means I'm at high risk of blood clots, I suffer from chronic migraines, I have a similar condition to chrons which means I don't absorb vitamins so already in the early stages of osteoporosis. I have had so many different tests I have lost count of what's working and what isn't.

I suffer with depression and following the diagnosis of POF, then ME and then to have menopause start with symptoms is all been a bit too much 😢

Peppers just wanted to say that regarding the estriol tube. If it is estriol 0.01% then the tube is quite big. Ovestin is the same ingredient but it is a stronger concentration so the amount of cream in a single dose is less and the tube is smaller. (I've used both at different times).but you end up getting the same dose of the active ingredient

Iit can be painful at first to get the tube in if you are very sore and dry and the tissues may be pretty fragile. The  cream should  ease it over time and help strengthen the tissue  so maybe at first you could try drawing up the dose and putting it on your finger to insert until things become more comfortable.

Hi! I think that you need an expert to make feel you more secure and optimistic about your health condition and to find the suitable treatment. Don't give up and not let the fear control you. I was in a such dark place 2 years ago and I could not recognize even myself! After 2 years of hard effort I feel like myself again.

I'm just seeing this now but wanted to say that many doctors don't understand that POF is different from menopause and that it is very beneficial to have hormone replacement therapy that mimics natural levels until you reach menopause age, regardless of clotting issues. Unless you've had several blood clots I would think it shouldn't even be a question. And even then you could be on HRT and a blood thinner. This isn't just about menopause symptoms, it's about your full physical health. I hope you've found care with someone more versed in POF.

Hi. New here although been following for the past two years. I wanted to advise that I too have factor v Leiden but have been given estrodot patch (didn't absorb gel )and Utrogestan which I'm struggling with but only because intolerant to progesterone.I was reassured by my gynaecologist at meno clinic it was absolutely safe as it does not pass through liver where clotting factors are created. My GP was uncomfortable but she now has letter from meno clinic so prescribes it for me.

As pointed out, you are only replacing what your body would naturally be making. I also went over early. Try the bio identical HRT such as the rub on gel and 100mg of utrogestan used vaginally 12 days per month under your specialist, you will feel a diff person.
