New to hrt and not feeling amazing..yet!
« on: June 01, 2019, 01:20:20 PM »

Hello all..hope everybody is doing well.  Right.....48 peri.....started estrogel and utrogesten 7 days ago. Estro daily and Utro vaginally on alternate days. (And on the adv of an expert meno doc).

I had a bleed 3 days ago and lil headache...bleeding has eased today but headache has come back. I.feel generally tired and just this heavy headache. Prior to takig the hrt i was feeling real.good after following a 4 wrek exerc and food plan..not a headache (i dont get them much  at all anyway) and real energised so i was in 2 minds whether tonstwrt my hrt...but know i needed.to try....as so many peri symptoms for a few yrs.

My query....will.this headache ease?  Will my energy come back? Just feel heaby headed and tired and like ive taken 5 steps back. Is this normal for the stwrt of hrt? I hoped id feel AMAZING !! X

You need to give the hrt 3 months to see full effect.

What symptoms are you trying to ease? X

Hi Dotty!!

Well...been a long while many diff symptoms.bit of late...ireg periods..
.tender coccyx bone ...dark corners of eyes that i hate.....palpitatons....thinning hair ..libido
but more so also...a.strange fatigue..
Feelings of overwhelment..
no motivation.... feekings of being stuck...like wading tjrough mud...altho i look after nyself etc. Just havent felt ME for a long time..no glow nor go..although you wouldnt suspect by looking at me.if that makes sense. I think ive suffered many symptoms for many yrs and rather in tune with ny body and akways suspected im low in hormones even though all othe bloods over the yrs been fine.....startes following the birth of ny now 14 yr old....im.48....chemical.imbalance (not pnd) and i think physically ive been lacking. My gp has been amazing...we decided its worth a try now..hrt as.ive exhausted all my holistic ways.....im.tired 'trying'. So.....thats me. X

Just be patient and give it time to work. Should see some improvement in 6-8 weeks. X

Hi juliemargaret, I really hope that HRT turns out to be an easy solution for you, but you should be aware that for many of us on here, finding the right regime when there are so many different types of HRT (and we're all so different) is a long and complicated process. I don't want to burst your bubble, and hopefully for you within a few weeks it'll settle and be fine, but the popular image given in the press that if you have menopausal problems all you have to do is go on HRT is woefully simplistic and misleading for many women. Just be prepared that you might have to try a few different types before you find something that works - don't be fobbed off by ignorant doctors telling you that there's no point either.
