Green star energy
« on: May 28, 2019, 10:43:55 AM »

Has anyone been with this energy company,if not don;t even think about it,or at least look into them very carefully,
I went with them through a broker called Utility Discount, didn;t realise they were brokers, until Green star contacted me, but i was told by UD that i would have £50 discount when i joined GS but i was given a voucher for Sainsburys for £25, when i queried this i was told no it wasn;t £50 it was only £25, and a quite nasty letter saying if i wasn;t happy i could leave,[wished i had later] but in the letter said the £50 was discount not cash, which i knew, but they had then contradicted themselves, quoting £50, as well,
Also they promised that every 3 months you got perks, and you could choose how you used them, never got these either
Utility Discount rang me a few weeks ago to ask if i was staying with Green star or wanting to change
I told them again about the hassle with GS and they told me to ring them again and i should definitely have had a £50 discount £25 for each fuel ,[duel fuel],
I did ring them again and they said would allow me the other £25, but i got a voucher for £10, which i have never bothered claiming,
This company are rubbish, and i have changed to Scottish Power have no idea how i will get on with them, it remains to be seen, but i am in credit

I did think of that,i am used to ringing them for various things, but my contract ends on the 13 of June, actually a bit ealrier as i finished my contract early, as you can if less than 49 days before contract is due to end, but i will see if they add it to what credit they owe me first, and if they don;t then i will do something, maybe contact ofgem

Not used Green Star but it sounds shoddy treatment! I was with Scottish Power at my last house and they were fab, easy to submit meter readings etc. When we moved last year we went to Bulb and I have to say their customer service is excellent (and all green energy too).

My own personal experiences of course. Hope you get it sorted, moving suppliers is  ::)
