Hi all, so glad to find this forum.  I've been on Elleste Duet since February and stopped yesterday due to manufacturing issues.  Because I don't want a period (its been over two years since my normal periods stopped, not counting bleed on HRT) my GP then prescribed me Kilofem which I am due to start taking today.  I saw my GP this morning because I don't want to take Kilofem just yet because the Elleste has made me put on weight and I feel so so bloated.  But just to mention in April I took Elleste without taking the green (progesteon) tablet as I had an event to attend and I didn't want to get a period, so effectively its been 2 months since a bleed.  Im wondering whether the bloating etc is due to that.  Anyway even though the Elleste stopped my hot flushes and irritability I don't like the bloated and weight gain side of things and I just want some time not to be on anything before I take the new prescription.  My GP said it would ok to stop to give my body a rest.  I have heard that patches are better than tablets but he said that the NHS only prescribe those once you've tried several tablets as patches cost the NHS more.  Sorry lots of info in my post but I just would love some input and advise, thank you :)

I can't help you with Elleste Duet or Kilofem but just wanted to say that I have been given patches first by  a meno consultant. This might possibly be because I take Tegretol which has to be processed in the liver and may interact with the HRT tablets.
