Hi ladies
Seriously with all these calculations I'm wondering am I am the right hrt
Is this not what we should expect from paying our, so called expert meno clinics?
I have gone to a private gynecologist and private menopause clinic and you know what they both said
“Go with the symptoms “
No blood test are of any benefit (they both said) and as time goes by, I think they are right.
If you feel crap, say it ,write it down, more often than not it's the same time as last month
I had myself thinking I knew what was happening, little did I know, sudden ups and downs, stress of certain situations etc have a huge effect when taking hrt, and no ones tells you that.
Ladies my advice, you know your bodies more than any medic can tell you and go with your body.
I have stopped reading up at this stage cause everything I did was a result of something I did,(hope that makes sense)
Try a hrt, at least for 3 months, if not suit you change it, walk, exercise, DRINK WATER, eat regularly And especially just before when you go to bed.
Enjoy life, know you're body is changing, it's scary at times (believe me, I know)
Do what works for YOU,

Hi Golden retriever,

I am on HRT.

I am going with the symptoms, I just wanted to check where I was, to see if i was absorbing- which I am. Tried increasing-  I was worse. I ache all over , have no energy, I cannot walk at times without my legs giving out, I cannot lift my arms for longer than a  minute without pain, I have no libido. All I believe related to low testosterone.

I enjoy life, I drink water, eat a very healthy diet try to exercise ( but everything I do I am exhausted and in pain) and I don't want to accept that this is it at 52, especially if I can do something to get better.

Sometimes when feeling desperate you feel you need to ask for help and support.

Hi Pepperminty

I totally understand and I'm sorry to hear you have pain.
I just feel that sometimes we tend to look into calculations too much and sometimes with a little change in another area it can help.

Menopause is just so complicated, isn't it. I hope you feel better soon

Hi Golden retriever,

it is complicated. I am not taking the calculations too literally, just as an indication. At least I am absorbing estrogen , so that is good. I would like to change to transdermal, but am afraid in case it have issues and that will effect my work.  I had very bad side effects on my previous HRT. I would like to try Utro, but I am scared that it will be worse than what I am on.

I agree life style changes even small ones can help. I couldn't be anymore healthy if I tried, so this is my last hope at the moment. HRt is not a cure all, but the signs all point to low testosterone. So I will have to consider all my options. When I am in pain, I find it very hard to think clearly. So popping thoughts and questions down can help.

Pepperminty I was like you, the pain was so bad I was officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a consultant. I was on all sorts of pain meds and goodness knows what but I gave them all up and went cold turkey as I couldn't do anything but sleep. I have had 5 types of hrt. I was on the first one for 5 years not realising it wasn't the right one and not doing any good.  I have had 4 more since then over 3 years and now I am on one that works for me and low and behold all pain gone!  I was given testosterone at xmas and that made a massive difference to the brain fog.  I have pretty much got rid of all the anxiety, panic, nausea etc as well. I am on 4 pumps oestrogel which is considered quite high and utrogestan vaginally on a cycle despite being 57 and post meno plus my testosterone.  It is possible if you persevere and keep trying till you find what works.

Thankyou Ladybt,

I am in the same position as you. Funny when I started HRT on Prempac C my aches went. But the progesterone part made me ill. I have a feeling that I probably need to change the type of HRT, but  am scared that i will be worse. I am so glad that your pain is gone. I wouldn't wish that type of pain on anyone. I agree that the more meds you take the more side effects. I am usually an optomistic, and love to laugh, as life is too short. I need to muster up the courage to see if there is a better option out there with a different type of HRT. Femosten has got me so far, but I guess it is not working so well now.
