Sorry me again!

Hi ladies.
Well I came off the HRT yesterday and have felt worse again today. The itching is easing but is still there and my anxiety has come back ten fold!!😫😥.
I have decided that I'm going to start on the antidepressants again tomorrow as I can't carry on like this! My husband has been quite patient over the last few years but I'm worried it's going to put a strain on our marriage. The doctor did say that if I stop the Evorel 50 and Utrogestan to try the Kliovance I've got as it's a lower dose. I'm worried that it will make things worse again as my poor body doesn't know what's hit it! I know this is probably rebound anxiety but I don't know what to do about the HRT. I'd really appreciate your thoughts about whether I should take it or just stick with the ADs from tomorrow please
Going back to the doctor again tomorrow- she will be sick of the sight of me!!
Thanks xx

Thanks very much Stellajane. I think so too. I have got some Menopause Support tablets here ( which are Soy Isoflavones) and I've been fine with them in the past so I will take those for now I think, as well as the ADs from tomorrow. They've got Magnesium in too.
Thanks. Jules x

Hello Jules 53.
Sorry to see that you are feeling so bad.
I don't suffer with awful itching but I do know about the anxiety. I also sympathise with your confusion about what to do for the best and of course the fear of feeling worse.
I hope the ADs help you and you are fortunate in having a supportive GP.
Sorry I can't be of more help but wishing you well and keep us updated.
Take care.

Thanks so much for your kind words Kathleeen. If you don't mind me asking, are you on HRT and do you take anything for your anxiety?

Thanks Birdy. I really hope you get some relief soon too. The worst thing is not being able to take a deep breath, then add to that the itching and it's driving me mad!!! 😫. I've taken some magnesium and had an epsom salt bath funnily enough, so I hope that will help🤞.
Take care and I hope things get better for us both very soon xx

So Karen max - ask for anti-anxiety medication? I don't know why GPs don't treat the conditions as separate!
Jules - why wait

Hello Jules53.
Of course I don't mind you asking. I am post meno and use 2 pumps of Oestrogel every day and 100mg of Utrogestan vaginally at night. I also take the AD Venlafaxine to help reduce anxiety and night sweats.
I have been guilty of fiddling with my HRT which is not advised I know but it's hard to keep going when the results are not what you want. I have experimented with a long cycle but the bleeds were substantial and when I was found to have low iron I worried that the blood loss would make it worse. All bleeding and spotting has stopped atm on 2 pumps but I'm not sleeping properly and my anxiety is still a problem.
I think I read that you don't have vaginal atrophy and neither do I. It makes you wonder if there's a 'package' of symptoms and we are alloted one kind or another. I never had the muscle aches or UTI's either but the nervousness, irritability and internal shaking have really done a number on me lol.
You are lucky to have a knowledgeable GP and I honestly believe that is half the battle to getting the balance right.
They say women have much more endurance than men and menopause certainly tests us to the limit.
Wishing you well and take care.

Ah thank you😘. The 4 am bit made me lol! I'm not that good at the deep breathing either - I'm too usually too busy panicking to do it properly. Lol.
Hope you get a good night's sleep! X

Hi Birdy. Still feeling short of breath. Sat in the doctor's waiting room. Will let you know how it goes.
How are you today? Did you get much sleep last night? X

Ah thanks so much for thinking of me ladies. This forum is great and all the ladies on here are fab!
I had a long chat with the doctor and she said the conclusion from the forum they took my case to was that the regime I was following- an estrogen patch or gel with Utrogestan is the best and safest way and as I was itching I was clearly intolerant to it and should stop. So that was the upshot of that! I am disappointed as I really wanted to give it a go but I wouldn't rule out trying it again in the future if I needed to.
I told the doctor I had decided over the weekend to go back on Venlafaxine and she agreed saying it would give me some space to get on an even keel (especially as it has worked for me in the past). I know the first few weeks are going to be tough as it makes you feel more anxious initially but I have some low dose Diazepam and can take them when I need to . I work full time so I know they are there as a back up if I get very jittery. I will also carry on with my 2 weekly acupuncture sessions. I have got a menopause supplement I have used before and it has magnesium in so she said I can take that too. She has made an appointment for me to go back and see her in 2 weeks and if I'm still short of breath then she will refer me to a respiratory consultant. However, she listened to my chest and took my oxygen level and said she certain it isn't asthma. She thinks it's anxiety and I am probably inclined to agree with her.
Birdy - I was awake at 3 this morning with night sweats and couldn't get back to sleep either😡. I hope we both get a good night's sleep soon! Sending lots of love and I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again😘. Jules xx

Thank you for the update jules.
Sorry You didnt get the news youd hoped for re the hrt. But you seem to have thought through how you want to proceed and covered yourself for those first couple of weeks on the venlafqxine. . I realy hope it works for you as it has in the past and that this, together with your accumpuncture and the supplements will have you fighting fit (and sleeping better) very very soon.
