Experiences of testosterone on mood
« on: March 07, 2019, 10:23:21 AM »

Does anyone have experience of testosterone cream improving their mood, energy, motivation,  mojo etc and if so how long did it take to notice a difference? I'm not fussed about libido as single.

It took around 5 or 6 weeks for me, I began to notice a slow but steady improvement in energy, mojo and libido which went hand in hand.  Re mood I feel it's a bit more complex. Initially mood improved immediately, however, that said if I take too much I can feel anxious. My feeling is I'm at optimum levels. I now only use 3 petit poi's blobs per week (Mon/Wed/Fri) and this keeps me topped up so to speak. It really is a balancing act.

Hope this helps x

I took about 4 weeks when I started adding extra to Tibolone, but it is a bit of a balancing act.  Too much makes me a bit twitchy, sort of same effect as too much caffeine.  Too little and my knees start to get stiff and energy drops (fall asleep watching TV in the evening).  Now I'm on Utrogestan and Sandrena a petit pois to pea size blob (of Tostran) every other day seems the best balance for me.  If I feel a bit over T'd I'll miss a day or a bit low and it becomes a generous pea.  This dose is far less than my gunacologist prescribed - which was a full pump every other day.

I think most of us here are on the gels as the cream is only prescribed privately and so is very expensive - but at least it is formulated especially for women so probably better!!

I can't remember how long it took although gynae said it could take up to 4-5 months for all the effects to fully become apparent due to cellular actions etc. My symptoms were low libido , low energy, tiredness and especially unnatural tiredness and muscle pains after exercise - exhaustion especially after heavier exercise. I've never had low mood so can't comment on that.

There is also a long running thread in Private Lives I started - "Testosterone Here we Go" which might have some experiences you could read through although also discussion on dosing too.

Sooze, your comment made me laugh. I have memories of my dad falling asleep in his armchair in front of the TV every evening and trying to switch over to TOTP without him waking up!  ;D

My consultant has just recommended Tostran and after reading about a few of the reported effects of T that I've read on this forum — from road rage to sex addiction :o — my husband is getting a bit worried!

Tostran is fine, take is slow and steady and you'll should notice some benefits (prob uplifted mood and energy) by week 8 if that is the reason for your symptoms. Sexual side may take longer but sometimes wellbeing improvement can naturally increase libido x

I've been using it three months now, and I'm not coming off it lol! It took about ten days, and that horrible, gnawing anxiety lifted...thank goodness. I've never really had energy level issues, but I have found I feel energetic for much longer. My thinking is much clearer too and I have a better feeling of well being. It's helped my libido too which I'm happy with. Still have all the aches and pains, but they are reduced 😁😁.

Give it a try, go slow and monitor any differences. I already had a hairy chin (from age of 21😱), and paradoxically, it's now less hairy, and the hairs grow slower. There's been no clitoral overgrowth or deep voice, and I'm still feminine, so all good on that front. My blood test shows that I've gone from barely detectable (.05pmol) to the higher end of normal (1.3pmol).

Good luck with it all xx
