I have been comfortable on Elleste Duet Conti for a few years now. As it is currently unavailable, I had to call my GP for an alternative and was prescribed Kliofem, which is also currently unavailable! The only other alternative, Nuvelle Continuous is (you've guessed it) also unavailable.
GP finally contacted the pharmacy attached to the surgery to find out what they DID have and we were able to get Kliovance, though I did have to point out to my GP that this was half the dose of the Elleste I currently take so he has agreed I can take two a day. (I shouldn't have had to point this out, but my GP nags me every 6 months to stop HRT anyway, and at this point I was just grateful to get some HRT after spending all day trying to sort it out.)
Now, I live in a small town, only three pharmacies, but I rang round all the others that were within sensible driving distance and nobody seems to have any of the three preparations that I could take. I see the GP at the end of February again and would like to think I can go back to my normal prescription.
Has anybody any idea what is going on? None of the pharmacists I spoke to seemed to know.
