Fed up of being fed up
« on: March 25, 2025, 05:43:10 PM »

So, I am pretty much post-menopausal, been using HRT for about 5 years which is fairly stable.
I previously worked in my dream job but it became really stressful due to government cutbacks, no staff, long hours, responsibility etc.. so I left and I now WFH.

Job pros: WFH, flexitime, not much stress, time off whenever I want.
Job cons: it’s a very boring admin job, I don’t really like my colleagues, there isn’t really any career progression.

My point is, I just can’t seem to find any energy or motivation to do anything anymore!

I start exercising to lose weight and feel better but then I give up, I have no idea what to do with my career, or is it even too late to start a new career?
I don’t have kids, no real family, not much social life, and I just feel like I’m existing! Is this all I have to look forward to for the next 30 years??!!  :-\

I’m not sure if it’s hormonal or just getting old? I’m not depressed, just fed up of same old same old!

Morning.  Both probably.  Sometimes we need to mourn for the past.  MayB make a list of your skill-base and hobbies, C whether there is anything that you could diversify to?  Decide how much income you require then look for another job.  If U WFM how often do you need to meet in the work place?

Could you take a part time job and then volunteer somewhere?

I can totally relate. I find that the less I do, the less I then want to do. Vicious circle.  It's never too late to change your job but you need to figure out if there is a problem or if you're just feeling meh. Maybe you need to be around people more? If your finances allow, you could completely change track. Maybe you just need a bit more social interaction. Can you get a regular coffee date with a friend perhaps? Definitely try to get back to exercising. Forget about motivation though and go for discipline, set a plan of days and times you can work out and just do it, no excuses or putting it off. It'll be a chore to start with but you'll feel better when you've done it, then just make it part of your routine. Even just a walk with a podcast on will lift your spirits x
