Period pains/bloating - post menopause
« on: December 20, 2018, 02:11:22 PM »

I am 46 and 18 months post menopausal. I have been on continuous utrogestan taken vaginally with estradot 50 for three months with no real problems. I could not tolerate utrogestan orally (terrible bloatedness. However the last couple of days I have experienced period pain cramps and bloatedness- my gps are very unhelpful and my next appointment at Chelsea and Westminster isn't for over a month. Do you have any ideas what might be causing this/anyone else experienced - just odd that I have been fine for 3 months? Thanks

Hi TnM45689

It's quite usual to get those symptoms.
I was getting them quite often, still do. And I'm 4 years postmeno.
It's all to do with the hormones.
However, although it's normal to get bleeding, anything up to 6 months of starting hrt, you should see your doctor just to get checked out.
You may not bleed, it's just those horrible cramps and bloatedness that comes with hrt.
If it doesn't go away, you might want or the doc might want you to change your hrt to another one.
