I am with you there CLKD. Life has absolutely no meaning to these awful awful people

I believe that a Life Sentence should mean that!

A man has been put away for the 3rd time.  In the early 1970s he assualted and murdered a 3 year old girl, was given a Life Sentence.  He was released and set fire to his flat - presumably provided by the tax payer; he was put away for endangering Life.  He set about a woman last year with a space and cut her throat - attempted murder so has been given Life - again - with a limit of 17 years B4 being considered for Parole.  This time he was on Licence  .  I fully believe that those who signed his Licence should be put away. On a ship, without food, in the Bay of Biscay 

So 2 families are grieving ....... the woman is taking a long while to recover and may never be 'well'

The police said they were looking for the person who stabbed the poor man on the train but didn't give a description of him ? Surely if they said what he looked like they'd find him sooner, are they too afraid of upsetting a minority group / culture / race / sex by describing him

That might seem like a good idea but it's a bit simplistic I'm afraid. There are many different degrees of murder and if you gave all the same sentence there would be many miscarriages of justice.  Not everyone kills out of malice.  Sometimes it's fear,  or panic or due to illness.  I think everyone is capable of taking a life, given the right set of circumstances, and every case is different.

What's so sad about it is that his 14 year old son witnessed it!
How bad, is that, shocking, he'll never get over that!
The trauma of losing his dad is enough, but being there, and how he died, we'll, my heart goes out to him.......
It's getting worse, someone got stabbed not that far away from where we live,
it's a big worry, you just don't know what's gonna happen next!

A Life for a Life surely.  Murder is murder.  Though Dr Dalton did represent Girls with severe PMT in Court - one had killed her mother.  In the case I was muttering about the guy had abused and killed a 3 year old, never deserved to be let out.  Ever. 

They have arrested a woman on suspicion of assisting an offender and a man  .  My heart goes out to the 14 year old.  Hopefully he didn't see too much of what went on.

Nope, I really can't agree with this.  That would mean a 'Criminal Retribution Service' and not a Criminal Justice Service.  You need to look to somewhere like Saudi Arabia for that.  As incompetent as it is I still prefer our system.

As for the man that has been arrested, but not yet charged, if he is tried and convicted he should get a very long term.  However,  look at that poor couple that were arrested and detained for the Gatwick Drones.   Thirty six hours in custody for nothing. 

Everything in it's right order.  Facts, truth, Charging, trial and conviction/acquittal.  That's how it works.

How did the couple questioned about the drone incidents become involved anyway?   Also, the Police have quietly stated that it may have been one of their own.  Looking for the 1st drone

They owned a drone and lived in the area. Their cast iron alibis were not enough for the police.

Hopefully they will accept the need to be more cautious these days.  Keep wondering how I would feel.  I do feel that drones should be registered with the LA and that people should take a 'test', similar to driving a car.  Each owner could then be checked if there is an incident.
