Socks
« on: March 23, 2025, 09:28:24 AM »

Can anyone recommend any nude/see through trainer socks please to possibly wear with a shoe in the summer. Mainly to protect ankles.

I have cotton trainer socks for trainers  but going without anything with other shoes means my ankles start getting shredded.

I’ve got rid of shoes that are the main culprit with a high ankle back and have tough plasters ready for the summer with the remaining. Even Hotter shoes which are often softer can rub.

Anyone else got this problem or a solution thanks?

I began a thread a while ago as I love long, knee length socks.  Difficult to find.  I picked up a pack this week, looked when I got home: 8-12  :-\

There are nylon socks, either ankle or foot covers.  I used the former for years in the Summer months.  Have U looked at websites for the various running companies, though do be aware that they may not stock on the shop floor!  We went to Decathlon who were out of stock of the 1 type that they sold, on the website there was a lot of choice  ::)

Waitrose or other supermarkets?

Do you mean like the ones you get in shoe shops? They sometimes give you a pair before you try on shoes

Yes that type of thing. Ones that covers ankles but won’t show with an open front shoe too much ie Low on the toe bit.

I’ve tried blister plasters but they are mainly for backs of ankles not sides of ankles.

I’m just trying to find an alternative to putting tough plasters on side of ankles in the summer.

Might ask in the shoe shop when next in town as to where they get theirs from.

I get knee length socks in Next plain black or grey.
They look like you are wearing thick tights in the winter with a skirt.  Means air gets to all the problem vaginal bits.  ::)

Would knee high pop socks work?

Amazon do them and also shorter ones that come to mid calf. I sometimes wear the footsies type ones in summer.

Think that’s what I need the footsie type ones I will have a look thanks.

I’ve got knee high pop socks which I don’t want to wear in summer. Wearing them now when it is warmer spring weather.

I got some from Primark a few years ago, lacy round the edges. I don't use them often but they work when I do.

Footsie socks stand as the best option. Summer anklet socks conveniently exist on Amazon along with other retailers to perfectly hide your ankles through your open footwear. The footsies should provide better comfort than knee-high socks when the weather becomes too warm for them. Your ankles remain protected from discomfort thanks to their ability to save them from unwelcome chafing.

Thanks I bought some footsie socks after suggestions.  Yet to try them but now I have them.

Love the idea for ones with lace  :)
