It's getting difficult to be certain what is correct/not. Reading a large article in the Sat Telegraph - only 12% of rags get used as something else; less than 1% is made into new clothing.
Charity shops often don't have the storage for a lot of items that are donated, even in their warehouses. "Wasteland" by Franklin-Wallis suggested 'only 10-30% of clothing donated actually gets sold'.

. What bothers me is those charity shops that pack their rails too tightly, I can't be bothered to browse

. It also annoys me that they buy in new clothing; although some of the big stores hand over end of line ranges: ?? at a cost ?? to the charity

I've worn the same clothing for years, we have a winter and summer wardrobe. 12 months ago I bought 3 new cardigans, 1 isn't washing very well so that's OK for gardening in. One is a little thin for this time of year ...... will B OK once the weather warms up as a layer.
Today I bought 7 books and 2 pairs of jeans - which look new and are the same brand - if they don't fit I can return them for a refund. They stopped having fitting rooms because of increasing incidents of theft!
I will continue to take plastics that can't be collected at the kerb side to Waitrose although it isn't obvious what happens to it once I've left it there.
